How to submit your NIN to your Local Network in Nigeria

The National Identification Number (NIN) is used to keep all records about an individual in the database and is also used to establish or verify personal identity in Nigeria. All citizens and legal residents in Nigeria are eligible to enroll for their National Identification Number.

Furthermore the Nigerian Communication Commission had previously mandated all Local Networks to update customer information with their NIN before December 30th 2020.

After a meeting chaired by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy with major stakeholders in the sector; there has been an extension of the period of the registration of SIMs with National Identification Number (NIN), as well as the cancellation of USSD and Verification Fees.

The National Task Force made a resolution that three (3) weeks extension should be granted for subscribers with NIN, from 30th December 2020 to 19th January 2021.

The National Task Force also granted six (6) weeks extension to subscribers without NIN, starting from 30th December 2020 to 9th February 2021.
