  • accidental or intentional deletion of important files and folders.
  • system programs failure.
  • installation of different software but of the same type and with similar functions, which results in conflict between executable files.
  • virus infection.

Most often, users complain of facing difficulties while working with Hangouts messenger, “Calendar” and “Contacts”, but “Android process acore” error is also typical of WiFi module, “Camera”, Google maps, “Navigator” and other apps.

  • Turn of Sync for Facebook and then delete and restore all contacts.
  • get rid of malware on your device.
  • perform a factory reset to your smartphone.

  1. go to your device settings.
  2. select “Settings – Apps – All Apps” section.
  3. tap on “Contacts – Storage”.

Editing others.xml

Sometimes when a smartphone owners play around with root rights it disrupts the operation of their gadgets and some programs. In Android OS there is a possibility to extend the functionality of your device by editing a special file. It can be found in the folder system/csc /.

A step-by-step procedure of system debugging:
  1. download a file manager designed to work in a superuser mode (Root Explorer, for example).
  2. copy others.xml to any location as a backup file.
  3. open a source file.
  4. find the line mentioning the non-running app. For example, for camera it’s Camera, for calendar — Calendar.
  5. instead of TRUE insert FALSE.
  6. save the file.
  7. restart your device.
Turn of Sync for Facebook and then delete and restore all contacts
  1. Again, back up all of the contacts stored on the affected device.
  2. Go to Settings > Accounts.
  3. Tap on Facebook.
  4. Turn off Sync by tapping on the option and removing the check mark beside it.
  5. Delete all of the contacts stored on the device.
  6. Restart the device.
  7. Restore all of the contacts.
Reset the device to factory settings
  1. Back up all contacts and any and all valuable data stored on the internal memory of the affected device.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Navigate to Backup and reset
  4. Tap on Factory data reset or something similar.
  5. Press Reset device.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions, and then wait for the device to be reset to factory defaults.
  7. When the devices powers on, go through the startup process, restore the backed up contacts, restore any other backed up data and reinstall all of the apps that were previously on the device using the Play Store. It would be foolish to even think that the “android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly” issue could survive a complete factory data reset.
Note: This method is only to be used as a last resort in the rare event that the first two don’t work as resetting an Android device to factory settings not only deletes all contacts stored on the device but also deletes everything stored on the device’s internal memory.
