This is mostly common with people using phones that allows dual sim cards. I am going to show you the simplest way to solving this error in one step. Please follow.

  • Make sure your data is working from your Safaricom M-Pesa sim so that everything runs through your Safaricom line. Go to Settings>Sim Cards>Cellular data>Safaricom.
Open your google play app and click on the three parallel line on the left top side of the app.

  • Click on Payment methods. You should see an option under add payment method written Use M-PESA Xpress billing. Click on it will verify with your sim card automatically and add itself to your payment methods.

Please note: After this process is done, you do not have to use your Safaricom line for data. You can also use WiFi as long as your Safaricom sim card is actively in your phone.
