How do you change your default Facebook group username?

Remember the last time we talked about the importance of sharing links appropriately in the virtual world. A friend wanted to share a link to her Facebook group for me to join in and it looked like this.

A generic link with a lot of scribbles in it, called a link. Even if you take out the generic messages at the end, you will still end up with a number as the group username. That is not memorable and looks unprofessional.

Setting a username is easy. Follow these steps:

Step #1: Log into facebook on a computer and navigate to your group. Click on the more button to show its’ options. Click on edit group settings.

Ideally you should type in the name of your group, and if it’s taken, you can get creative with your group name.

Step #3: Type in your desired web address. Click on customise address.
