What is a Virtual Private Network (VPN)?

In light of the recent problem in Zimbabwe where the citizens were shut out of the internet, we thought it might be a good idea to tell you what a VPN is, how you can use it, how to choose one, and what it is used for. Noteworthy to mention that, it is a handy tool any internet user should possess. It is also used in places where you are blocked from accessing some websites/applications.

According to Norton, a virtual private network (VPN) gives you online privacy and anonymity by creating a private network from a public internet connection.

They further explained that; VPNs mask your internet protocol (IP) address so your online actions are virtually untraceable. Most importantly, they establish secure and encrypted connections to provide greater privacy than even a secured Wi-Fi hotspot.

This is my best definition of a VPN so far. If you got questions, please comment below. Thanks.
